FALL FESTIVITIES

PALS BLOG HOP!!

Glad you could join us for some fun fall crafting with the Stampin' Pretty Pals! You've probably hopped over from Peggy Noe's blog, I'm stop number 19 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Stampin' Up! fall projects! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track

I made two cards today.  I used one of my all time favorite stamp sets; "Lovely as a Tree".  I stamped the tree with black stazon ink, then I used 3 different colors of Stampin' Up! ink with a blender pen and colored in the foliage of the tree.  The trees here in North Dakota are starting to change colors.  This big tree reminds me of the colors around here.

The new designer series paper (Naturals Composition) with the wood grain embossing already on it was just the perfect paper for my card.

Here is the second card I made.  I layered the tree on 3 different layers of paper.  I added the pearls on the bottom for the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your blog hop tour!

PPA142

Color Challenge

Today's PPA Challenge features the colors below:

Here is the card I created for today's color challenge. The lucky limeade background paper is scored around the edges to give it a framed appearence. "Nemo" was created by using different Stampin' Up! punches. The modern label punch for his fins, the retired butterfly punch was used for his tail, the large oval punch is his face, and 2 different sized circle punches were used for his eyes.
My inspiration for the fish came from Niki Toll. She had a card on Pinterest.com that featured a punch art fish. When I saw it, I knew I had to case it!! Isn't he cute?!

PALS AUGUST BLOG HOP!

FEATURING ITEMS FROM THE
NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG

Glad you could join us for some holiday crafting with the Stampin' Pretty Pals! You've probably hopped over from BRIAN KING'S BLOG, I'm stop number 19 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Stampin' Up! projects featuring the new Holiday Catalog! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track

The card I made for the blog hop features the stamp set,  'Perfectly Preserved'.  This set is so versatile and fun to use.  I thought the "Orchard Harvest" designer series paper (DSP) went well with this set.  I layered the card to get some depth and detail.  I just tore the edges of the paper to get the jagged edge look.
I used some of the new in-color ink to coordinate with the DSP  when I stamped the jars and apples.  Bakers twine was used to top off the jar on the right.

Here is a close up look at the jars!

    My Guest Appearance!

Today is an exciting day for me.  I am a guest on Mary Fish's Stamping Pretty website!!  To me, she is a 'rock star' of Stampin' Up!  She is a great leader of all the PALS and has a BIG following.  I am so inspired by her work, and have loved being a part of her Stampin' Up! group.  She is wonderful person, and I even had an opportunity to meet her in person when I was in Arizona on vacation.
I got to meet Mary Fish in person!

The project that is featured is a purse (or bag) I made out of Stampin Up! fabric.  It was such a fun project to make.  Stampin' Up!'s fabric is of high quality, and I loved working with it.  Here it is:

I used the "Spice Cake" designer series fabric from the Stampin' Up!  The purse is made from sewing together 2.5" strips of fabric.  I followed a pattern I purchased at a local quilt store.  It was easy to make and I have been giving them as gifts!  I have made 5 purses so far.  So fun for me!  If you have any questions about the purse or want further information, you can email me at: kthome99@gmail.com

                                                                 Side View

Inside Purse:  I love all the pockets!

Here is another example of a purse I sewed using "Beau Chateau"  designer fabric from Stampin' Up!  After I made it, I realized it looks like a small baby/diaper bag.  I plan on saving this purse for a gift to give someone who has a baby girl.   Here it is:

    PPA 140

Today's PPA challenge is a color challenge featuring one of the new 'In colors' from Stampin' Up; Summer Starfruit.  The other two colors are 'veteran' colors; Marina Mist and Real Red.

Here is the card I created.  It is a triple layer card.  I got the idea from my PAL's leader, Mary Fish.  You can find out how to make this type of layered card HERE on her blog; Stampin Pretty.

I used the Stampin' Up! stamp set, "Carry On" for this card.  I have had this stamp set for a while and was excited to get it out and use it!

The purse on the front of the the card is made with the tab punch folded in half.  The handle is made with the oval punch and scallop oval punch.  I also used a couple of embossing folders to add texture to the card.

    PPA139

Time for another PPA challenge!  This challenge is a sketch challenge, see below!

Here is the card I came up with for the challenge.  I love using the new Stampin' Up!  embossing folders; I seem to incorporate them into most of my cards lately!  Also, framelits are becoming my new favorite item.  I don't like to cut out things with a scissors, so the framelits are perfect for me...no cutting!

Here is an upclose view of my medallion 'layer'.

    JULY PALS BLOG HOP

It's time for some fun in the sun with the Pals! Glad you could join us for the Pals Summer Sunshine Blog Hop! You've probably hopped over from Nina Dee's blog, I'm stop number 18 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for summer themed Stampin' Up! projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track

The PALS hop today is the theme of summer.  When I think of summer, I always think of flowers.  The card I created today is all about flowers.  The dahlia adornmets added the touch I was looking for!

Here are the items used for the card:
Paper:  Very vanillia, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse cardstock and Comfort Cafe DSP
Stamp Set:  Embellished Events and Curly Cute

Punches: Ornament punch, scallop cornor and decorative label punch
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Gumball green and soft suede
    Embellishments:  Dahlia adornments

Up close view of the vase

I put the "vase" through the bigshot with one of the new embossing folders in the new Stampin' Up! catalog and used a sponge dauber with champange mist on it to give it a little sparkle!

Today's challenge incorporates the above colors from Stampin' Up!  I made a Birthday card with all three colors.  Notice the paper piericing around the "Happy Birhday" sediment.  I love using the new paper piercing pack that just came out in the new annual catalog.  No more guessing in lining up the dots!  Thanks for stopping by!

Today's PPA challenge is for the sketch above.  I decided to use some of my new products I purchased from the new Stampin' Up!  catalog.  The new in-colors are so beautiful!  Gumball green, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit are the in-colors I used for most of my card.  I did a lot of layering using various punches and some of the new framelit dies.  Here is the card I came up with below.

    The card measures 5" X 5" square

    JUNE PALS BLOG HOP!

Welcome to the Pals New Catalog Blog Hop! The Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to share some fabulous cards and projects showcasing our favorite products from the new Stampin' Up! For my new catalog project, I used some of the new in colors for 2012-2014.  "Midnight Muse" is the star of the show in this project.  The designer series paper is:  'Comfort Cafe'.  A couple of embossing folders were used to add dimension to my project:  Perfect Polka Dot and Elegant Bouquet.  The stamp set is:  "Forever with You".  I used the in color Stampin' Up! markers to color the stamp before stamping it on vanilla cardstock.  Beautiful 5/8" Crochet Trim was used for the bow on the bottom of the card.  In the center of the bow is a brad from the Antique Brad set.

Today's Challenge consists of the three colors in the picture below:

When I layed the 3 colors together before I made a card for the current color challenge; I knew I would make a patriotic card.  The red, white, and blue instantly reminded me a of our USA flag.  Here is the card I came up with:

Here is the inside of the card:

    BABY DRESSER CARD

I made a baby card for my hair-dresser today.  She has been on maternity leave since February; and I REALLY missed her!!  I have an appointment tomorrow and I am very excited to see her.  Here is the card I made for her.   Her little girl's name is Bergit...named after her great-grandmother.

It is a side dresser card I cased for Jan Topa.  I "quilted" the side baby quilt and put a "B" on it for Bergit or Baby!  Here is the inside of  the card:

For today's sketch challenge; I used some new designer series paper from Stampin' Up!  Along with the DSP, is used a new stamp set and framelits.  It is always fun to use new Stampin' Up! products!

The birthday card I made is showcasing the soon to be retired "in-colors" from 2010-2012.  The colors retiring are:  Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, and Concord Crush.  Before stamping the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, I colored each word with a different retiring in-color marker.   The retiring punch used was the "Doily Triple Layer" punch.  In the center of each doily is the matching retiring in-color glimmer brad.  The final retiring products used on this card are the satin Old Olive ribbon that is tucked behind the sentiment, and the stamp set entitled, "Happiest Birthday Wishes".
