My Guest Appearance!

Today is an exciting day for me.  I am a guest on Mary Fish's Stamping Pretty website!!  To me, she is a 'rock star' of Stampin' Up!  She is a great leader of all the PALS and has a BIG following.  I am so inspired by her work, and have loved being a part of her Stampin' Up! group.  She is wonderful person, and I even had an opportunity to meet her in person when I was in Arizona on vacation.
I got to meet Mary Fish in person!

The project that is featured is a purse (or bag) I made out of Stampin Up! fabric.  It was such a fun project to make.  Stampin' Up!'s fabric is of high quality, and I loved working with it.  Here it is:

I used the "Spice Cake" designer series fabric from the Stampin' Up!  The purse is made from sewing together 2.5" strips of fabric.  I followed a pattern I purchased at a local quilt store.  It was easy to make and I have been giving them as gifts!  I have made 5 purses so far.  So fun for me!  If you have any questions about the purse or want further information, you can email me at: kthome99@gmail.com

Inside Purse:  I love all the pockets!

Here is another example of a purse I sewed using "Beau Chateau"  designer fabric from Stampin' Up!  After I made it, I realized it looks like a small baby/diaper bag.  I plan on saving this purse for a gift to give someone who has a baby girl.   Here it is:

  12. Your bags are fantastic. I would love to know where to get the pattern. I'm from New Zealand but coming to the States in 4 weeks for a holiday - maybe I could buy one while I'm there. My email is yellowbearnz@gmail.com. I too am a BIG fan of Mary Fish. Unfortunately we won't be able to get to Tuscon (just going to Phoenix) this trip. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to checking your blog now that I've found it :)

  15. Lovely bag! Spice Cake is my favorite DSP and SU fabric, was sad when it retired but I still have a few scraps of each left. I would love the pattern # of this purse, also, so I can see if my quilt store carries it. I see purses being made to give as gifts in my future! Thanks from a fellow PAL.

  18. Kim,

Your purse is beautiful! I love it and the Spice Cake fabric too! Thanks for sharing the pattern name/number. I googled it and found it on Sew Unique Creations which is in Joliet, IL. How many packages of SU! fabric did you use to complete this purse? I have a few packages stashed away and would love to know if one package will complete this. Thanks and happy sewing/stamping!
